By now you may have noticed my obsession with the color yellow. It's all I can do to keep myself from buying this haute hue everytime I see it. This latest lust-worthy look I actually spotted on Kris Jenner in a recent episode of KUWTK (I should not have to explain to you that this stands for "keeping up with the kardashian" but just in case...) rocking a neon yellow blouse that really popped on camera. But of course, you know I had to find the look for less- for those of us not willing to splurge on trendy items.

Recently I felt the need to get a new pair of sunglasses. This is an urge I get every so often, but as a someone who is a constant wreck, I feel that it would be irresponsible to buy an expensive pair, given how many times I've lost, broken, or dropped my shades into an ocean. So, after stalking some designer styles, and settling on round frames for a retro feeling, I spent weeks searching for look-a-likes. Then, on a magical Target trip- there they were- a beacon of light shining down on these ultra-affordable, trendy, chic shades. Yes, I am well aware that round frames are not for everyone, but for $17, I am willing to give it a shot.

In my circle of friends and family it's a well know fact that I love all emollients, lotions and potions! I have an entire closet bursting at the seams- full of products, samples, and even the little bottles you get at hotels. Actually, now that I think about it, I may be a hoarder. Regardless, although I'm always trying new products, it's rare that I actually buy one twice. The exception? Cane + Austin Retexturizing Treatment Pads, or as I call it: face crack. A makeup artist friend of mine gave me some of these magic pads last year, and instantly, I was addicted. I had complained to her about my T-zone area that always seemed rougher than the rest of my skin. These little babies claim to "gently exfoliate and retexture skin while helping to rebuild collagen" I don't really know what that means, but I can tell you that after just one use my skin was baby soft- even my troubled T-zone! The instructions say to use it twice a day, but they're pretty strong so I stick to once. You may want to experiment on your own skin. Try it once, I'm pretty sure you'll understand why I've dubbed it face crack!
Do you guys remember that time i met Nicole Richie? If you don't a)shame on you b) you can refresh your memory here! Anyway, I think I was majorly inspired by Nic's boho vibe, because I recently purchased an armful of tunics. I can't really explain why, I've just been gravitating to the tunic style for weeks now. I can't get enough! I have long-sleeved, short-sleeved, embellished, printed, plain, colorful- and more! They just seem like the perfect thing to thrown on for any occasion from a beach day to a s'mores party (yes that's a thing). I've been scooping most of mine up at consignment shops and online flash sales but there is an abundance to choose from out there- so let my close personal friend Nicole Richie inspire you this summer, too!

Few things make me happier than finding a score. That rush you feel when you spot something you love on sale? Meant to be! Now that the official start of summer is just days away, it's time to refresh that wardrobe, so you can be easy and breezy all summer long. Fortunately, there are also tons of sales going on...so what are you waiting for? Treat yourself!
Ahhh summer! Cocktails with the girls, garden parties, and of course weddings! I love filling up my calendar with fun social events...until I discover I have nothing to wear. How a girl can have a full walk-in closet with not one thing to put on, I have no idea, but welcome to my life. If you've ever been stuck in that position (you're nodding your head, yes?) there is a super-simple and incredibly fun solution! Three words for you: Rent. The. Runway. If you havn't heard of RentTheRunway.com by now, then I expect a "thank you" e-mail coming my way after you finish reading this post. Here's how it works: pick out one of their incredibly gorgeous high-end designer dresses from the website. I'm talking Milly, Badgley Mischka, Halston, DVF... the list goes on and on! Once you pick the dress you want to wear choose the size and the date of your event, and it gets shipped directly to you days before the event! You get the dress for a few days, for literally a FRACTION of the real cost. Some of them are less than 50 bucks! How can you beat that? You even get a second size sent to you for *free* so you can pick the one that fits you best. After you've filled up your camera with pics of you in your insanely fabulous dress and had the night of your life- you simply mail the dress back. So easy! Sidenote: the ladies from RTR have been on The Rhode Show a couple times (check it out here and here) and they are basically totally awesome, just one more reason to love them!
What is it about owning something that you first spotted on TV that makes it so much cooler? I know I'm not alone here; pieces that were featured on all my fave TV shows are constantly selling out. Like this summer stunner necklace, seen on this season's finale of Gossip Girl. While you may have to wait until the fall to see if Blair and Chuck will finally end up together, you can get a piece of the Van der Woodsen fortune now. The multi-layered turquoise statement necklace that Lily wore is now back in stock- and super affordable! Can we all say "amen" for a little instant gratification?

I'm hot on the heels of the newly crowned Miss USA's style. It's no secret I'm feeling a little Rhode Island Pride here; Olivia Culpo was Miss RI up until Sunday, and she's already sharing her local favorites with the rest of the country. She's proudly been displaying one of her favorite Rhode Island designers, Andrea Valentini, while out and about on the press circuit, and even in some of her official Miss Universe photos. Olivia is the original face of Andrea Valentini, which seems like a perfect match to me: a beautiful girl with some beautiful designs! I am personally dying for this Bridget bag! Obsessed! So if you want to dress like Miss USA, start with some Lil Rhody style!

I could not be more excited that Pretty Little Liars is back for the summer. After Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl went off the air until the fall I was left feeling a little empty. My fave character is Hanna, who I feel is the most like myself, which obviously makes me like her. So of course I'm obsessed with her jacket from this season's premiere. I also love how her character is styled- her outfit always has something a little unexpected. For example, I wouldn't have thought to put this lace dress underneath- but so cute! If only I had been so fashionable in high school!
