And the Emmy goes to...Beyonce! Wait, what? That was the VMAs? Oh. Well, I'd still give it to her, but since the VMAs are really just a mess of who can show the most boobs and booty let's skip over that and talk about The Emmys. Monday night, huh? I kinda dig it! Most people played it pretty safe. Let's face it, this red carpet is not the most exciting, but it's still fun! Lots of red and white...and a few pink ombre ruffled messes (cough, cough, Lena Dunham- we'll get to that later), and just a couple sparkled stunners. So without further adieu, let's dive in- complete with #hashtags!
One of my favorite looks from the night! Julia Roberts in Elie Saab #legsforday
Gorgeous, stunning, striking- LOVED Lizzy Caplan in Donna Karan Atelier #yougoglencoco
I was surprised at how much I liked Hayden Panettiere in Lorena Szabo. Pregnancy looks good on her! #preggoperfection #suckerforsparkles
Another gorgeous Elie Saab dress from a mega movie star, but completely different from Julia Roberts #allhailhalle
Sofia Vergara in Roberto Cavalli #becauseduh
Oh and PS, there was this. Please discuss... #girlbye
OK, truth time. When I'm getting ready in the morning the last things I think about are my undergarments. Actually the last thing I think about is remembering to unplug my steamer before running out the door, but right before that, definitely my underwear. For me, it's more about functionality and much less about fashion. Until now. I was recently invited to a lingerie pop-up shop of sorts when the Journelle Airstream Boutique traveled to beautiful Castle Hill. The inn has partnered with the lingerie shop, which as you can imagine is a match made in luxury heaven! At stunning Castle Hill, you can book the "Journelle Getaway" or at Journelle, check out the Castle Hill inspired lookbook! Maybe it was the view, or more likely- maybe it was the rose', but either way I was inspired, and couldn't resist picking up a pretty little lacy thing for myself. And you may want to, too- since Journelle's semi-annual sale is going on now!
The unofficial start of start of summer has come and gone, which means beach season is underway in many parts of the country. Despite what may have been the longest winter in years, I still feel like warm weather crept up quickly- leaving me unprepared to bare all on the sand. That's why I'm loving Jessica Simpson's one-piece with cutouts by Mara Hoffman. The queen of graphic prints delivers a fun, sexy vibe, while still being a little more covered up. Weird tan lines be damned! Who really cares when we all use fake tanner anyway? Check out some more (less expensive) one-piece wonders below!

Victoria's Secret Flounce One-piece ...also comes in super cute floral print!
And just like that, the red carpet is rolled up! So many great looks from this year's Oscars. No one looked truly horrible besides poor Liza Minnelli- but at least she's fun! Overall my favorites were in the neutral, pastel, or metallic categories, but I had to throw in one HOT red dress! My "best dressed" for the 2014 Academy Awards below!
As expected, Lupita Nyong'o was best dressed and looked like Cinderella in Prada.
Another princess look: Cate Blanchett in Armani. This is a love or hate look. I love it.
Giving off that old Hollywood glam, Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace looked so perfect for the occasion.
People can hate on Kim K all they want, but I think she is drop dead gorgeous in this Celia Kritharioti gown.
Ellen may have commanded the stage, but Portia De Rossi ruled the red carpet in Naeem Khan.
Looking just like a little Oscar herself, Kristin Chenoweth glittered in gold Cavalli.
It's a lot of look, but I adore Jenna Dewan-Tatum in this Reem Acra. Talk about a hot mama!
It's no secret I've never been the biggest Taylor Swift fan. As G.B. would say, I'm sure she's crying in her private jet. But, I'm woman enough to admit that despite my general distaste for the country crooner, she looked stunning at last night's Grammy Awards. Best dressed for sure. My runners-up were Chrissy Teigen, who looked absolutely flawless, and Katy Perry. Katy Perry's fresh off the runway Valentino may not be everyone's favorite, but I think it hit just the right note for the occasion (see what I did there?).
Taylor Swift in Gucci
Chrissy Teigen in Johanna Johnson with husband John Legend in Gucci
Katy Perry in Valentino. The dress just walked down the runway last week in Valentino's spring/summer 2014 Haute Couture collection. Check it out here!
Happy awards season! Time to do my favorite thing: silently judge, then offer my opinion when nobody asked for it! And last night's red carpet did not disappoint! The sewage spill should have been a sign to us all of what was to come! I havn't seen so many bad dresses since my junior prom! There were a few shining stars in the bunch, but overall it was hard to even pick the worst dressed because there were so many! Some of my faves are below, but keep scrolling for the far more entertaining worsts from the red carpet!

Not many people are lucky enough to have a couple of friends who would agree to go to Paris on a whim. Fortunately, I am. After a couple bottles of wine one afternoon, a trio of friends decided there was no city in the world they'd rather kill a few days in than Paris, and so it was. After a magical and unforgettable, if not whirlwind, trip- here is a brief glimpse of what it takes to pack for a Parisian vacation in winter. Spoiler alert! It involves a lot of head-wear.
Emmy shmemmy! It's time to talk red carpet fashion! Overall, I thought the night was pretty tame- dare I say...boring?? But, there were a few dresses that, IMHO, knocked it out of the park. Watch the clip below to see me, mom blogger Audrey McClelland and Personal Stylist Jill Marinelli talk about some of our faves and flops from the night on The Rhode Show. Scroll down further to see some others I loved- but didn't have time to talk about! Which dresses were your favorite?
Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein
Kaley Cuoco in Vera Wang
Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Monique Lhuillier
Maria Menounos in Zac Posen
Julie Bowen also in Zac Posen
If somebody were to ask me "what is your perfect day?", I would say "shopping, while sipping cocktails and spotting celebrities." Amazingly, this is exactly what I did over the weekend. And this wasn't just any shopping...this was designer discount shopping! Heaven. So what am I talking about? OCRF's celeb-studded Super Saturday event. Hosts Kelly Ripa, Donna Karan and InStyle rolled out the red carpet for us commoners and celebs alike for the 16th annual fundraising event in the Hamptons. Everyone from Nicky Hilton and Lisa Rinna to Issac Mizrahi were there perusing booths of discounted clothing, beauty products, home goods and more- all benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Being a savvy (read: cheap) shopper, I was in my glory as prices were slashed as the day went on. My major score? A DVF dress that I ended up getting for $50! Like, what? A fab and fashionable time was had by all!

Fashionable friends- getting our shop on
A funny thing happened. Last week I told you about my contempt for the fashion industry forcing a new season upon me as I try to enjoy my pina colada poolside. I meant it. Until I walked into Nordstrom. A sucker for a sale, I popped in to one of my fave spots to see what scores I could snag. Their anniversary sale, called the N sale, is deemed a "fashion bash"- and it is. Everything from high-end to moderately priced just-in fall pieces on sale now before the season even starts (shoes, too!)! It started innocently enough, I thought maybe a new top to throw into the mix of my stale summer wardrobe, until a beyond beautiful leather shirt beckoned me from the corner. I tried to resist. "No, beautiful oxblood leather shirt," I said, "it's 97 degrees outside. Leave me alone!". But, I couldn't. I headed to the dressing room, with the sales girl trailing, "It's real leather!" she called after me, and it felt like butter. Ultimately, I left it on the rack knowing that the sale continues for a couple more weeks. I am still lusting after it, and several other studded stunners, that I imagine will probably end up in my closet. Don't worry, I didn't leave empty-handed, though. I picked up a Wildfox "Shopping is My Cardio" t-shirt that was the one item in the store not on sale, natch. The N sale is on until August 4th, then it's back to full price.
The shirt I almost (and might still) bought- Halogen Leather Front Top
Absolutely need this- so cute!- Steve Madden Tweed Peplum Trench Coat
Been drooling over these for a while, time to buy? Black or Brown??- Frye Melissa Harness Boot
The perfect excuse to buy some accessories? Loving these gloves!- Nordstrom Covered Stud Fingerless Leather Driving Gloves
Don't forget beauty deals! Voluspa candles are a staple in my house- the crisp champagne scent is one of my faves!- Voluspa Two-Wick Tin Candle Trio
