I am not only a fashion fiend, avid reality TV watcher, and television producer, but also... single! A "most eligible" single, in fact, according to Providence Monthly. It is February, after all- the month of love, and I, along with some other fab singles are featured in this month's issue! We had such a blast at the shoot, and since the magazine hit shelves, I've been getting a lot of questions about my dress. I have to admit, this may be my favorite dress I've ever worn- and the best news is, you can wear it too! Why? Because I rented it! I've written about my love of "Rent the Runway" before, and this dress just proves the amazing quality of their inventory. This is the "Red Lace Dahlia Dress" by Nha Khanh. Retail you'd pay just under $600 for this perfectly flirty, but totally appropriate dress. Rental price is only $100. If you've read my blog before, you probably already know about RTR's fantastic customer service, and the optional 2nd size dress (lifesaver!). One of the best features, though, is the real women reviews that other renters post to help you really determine the fit of all the dresses on the site. Read my dress review here- it's perfect for Valentine's Day! And speaking of Valentine's Day, join myself and some other singles for a tweet party this Sunday! Get all the details here and chat along!
It's no secret I've never been the biggest Taylor Swift fan. As G.B. would say, I'm sure she's crying in her private jet. But, I'm woman enough to admit that despite my general distaste for the country crooner, she looked stunning at last night's Grammy Awards. Best dressed for sure. My runners-up were Chrissy Teigen, who looked absolutely flawless, and Katy Perry. Katy Perry's fresh off the runway Valentino may not be everyone's favorite, but I think it hit just the right note for the occasion (see what I did there?).

Happy awards season! Time to do my favorite thing: silently judge, then offer my opinion when nobody asked for it! And last night's red carpet did not disappoint! The sewage spill should have been a sign to us all of what was to come! I havn't seen so many bad dresses since my junior prom! There were a few shining stars in the bunch, but overall it was hard to even pick the worst dressed because there were so many! Some of my faves are below, but keep scrolling for the far more entertaining worsts from the red carpet!
Best- Kate Beckinsale in Zuhair Murad
Best- Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Roberto Cavalli
Best- Leslie Mann in Dolce & Gabbana
Best- Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein
Best- Cate Blanchett in Armani

Worst- Julia Roberts in Dolce & Gabbana
Worst- Heidi Klum in Marchesa

Stop it. Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about H&M offering online shopping?? This *might* be even better! T.J. Maxx has now opened up their e-commerce store! It was a quiet launch, with no announcement, but trust me- it's there! I heard that this was in the works a few weeks ago, but didn't get my hopes up for a couple of reasons. 1) What you find in stores is so hit or miss that you can't really rely on it 2) I love the thrill of the hunt! Finding that lone designer dress packed in the middle of mediocre clearance brands is a high I can't put into words. However, after perusing the site, I'm over the moon! All the high-end designer brands are there, so if you aren't fortunate enough to live near a T.J.'s with "The Runway"... consider this your new favorite store. For me, this will be a nice additive to my brick & mortar shopping, since I'm a huge fan of trying things on. But maybe now I won't feel the need to be quite as impulsive when purchasing. After all, I'm still paying off the gorj "Vince" sweater I put on layaway a couple weeks ago. Shop on, Maxxinistas!
If somebody were to ask me "what is your perfect day?", I would say "shopping, while sipping cocktails and spotting celebrities." Amazingly, this is exactly what I did over the weekend. And this wasn't just any shopping...this was designer discount shopping! Heaven. So what am I talking about? OCRF's celeb-studded Super Saturday event. Hosts Kelly Ripa, Donna Karan and InStyle rolled out the red carpet for us commoners and celebs alike for the 16th annual fundraising event in the Hamptons. Everyone from Nicky Hilton and Lisa Rinna to Issac Mizrahi were there perusing booths of discounted clothing, beauty products, home goods and more- all benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Being a savvy (read: cheap) shopper, I was in my glory as prices were slashed as the day went on. My major score? A DVF dress that I ended up getting for $50! Like, what? A fab and fashionable time was had by all!

Fashionable friends- getting our shop on
Some people do drugs, sky-dive, get tattoos or gamble. Me? I shop. To me, finding a great deal is the greatest thrill, but the other day I upped the ante. For what I believe to be the first time ever, I bought a final sale dress, that I've never tried on, online. What would possess me to play such a game of fashion roulette? Well, the payoff is an amazing deal on an adorable Milly dress. One of my fave sites, Rent The Runway, is having their clearance event. You can buy high-end (and I do mean high) designer dresses for a fraction of the cost. RTR is already known for amazing rentable dresses for special occasions at a great price, but this clearance event is genius! Even though the dresses are previously worn, you know the quality will be great because of RTR's reputation and phenomenonal customer service. And, because all the dresses already have reviews, ratings, styling tips, and user photos online, you can do your research before clicking "purchase". The cost was already low, but with my credits, I was able to snag the dress fro about $60. Talk about a high!
A funny thing happened. Last week I told you about my contempt for the fashion industry forcing a new season upon me as I try to enjoy my pina colada poolside. I meant it. Until I walked into Nordstrom. A sucker for a sale, I popped in to one of my fave spots to see what scores I could snag. Their anniversary sale, called the N sale, is deemed a "fashion bash"- and it is. Everything from high-end to moderately priced just-in fall pieces on sale now before the season even starts (shoes, too!)! It started innocently enough, I thought maybe a new top to throw into the mix of my stale summer wardrobe, until a beyond beautiful leather shirt beckoned me from the corner. I tried to resist. "No, beautiful oxblood leather shirt," I said, "it's 97 degrees outside. Leave me alone!". But, I couldn't. I headed to the dressing room, with the sales girl trailing, "It's real leather!" she called after me, and it felt like butter. Ultimately, I left it on the rack knowing that the sale continues for a couple more weeks. I am still lusting after it, and several other studded stunners, that I imagine will probably end up in my closet. Don't worry, I didn't leave empty-handed, though. I picked up a Wildfox "Shopping is My Cardio" t-shirt that was the one item in the store not on sale, natch. The N sale is on until August 4th, then it's back to full price.
The shirt I almost (and might still) bought- Halogen Leather Front Top
Absolutely need this- so cute!- Steve Madden Tweed Peplum Trench Coat
Been drooling over these for a while, time to buy? Black or Brown??- Frye Melissa Harness Boot
The perfect excuse to buy some accessories? Loving these gloves!- Nordstrom Covered Stud Fingerless Leather Driving Gloves
Don't forget beauty deals! Voluspa candles are a staple in my house- the crisp champagne scent is one of my faves!- Voluspa Two-Wick Tin Candle Trio
We all know the fall season is the holy grail of women's fashion. It's then that we really get to sink our teeth into new styles, layering techniques and, well, hot boots. I, like most who enjoy shopping, think fall is the absolute best time of year. That being said, can I please enjoy summer for 5 freakin' minutes? The summer sun has barely made a dent in warming up the chilly New England water temps, and already I'm seeing sweaters on racks. Relax, Anna Wintour, I'd like to at least wear a couple of my maxi dresses before banishing them to the back of the closet. But we, as shop-a-holics, can take advantage of the fashion industry's over-zealousness by shopping the summer sales going on now in the very height of this heat wave. Get your debit cards out, we're going sale-surfing!

So, I forgot to tell you guys how I met Clinton Kelly a couple weeks ago. I'll save you the long story about me gushing to him and just let you know that by the end of the evening we were besties. Well, at least that's how it went in my mind. Regardless, he was really polite while I gave him my whole "I love you so much" spiel and even told me he loved my outfit! High praise indeed. So why did I meet him? He was a hosting a fashion show at Macy's -using clothes all from- you guessed it- Macy's! It turned out to be a really fab show- I bought a couple of the garments featured (no surprise) but was especially excited to see one of my fave brands on the catwalk- Brahmin! I've done posts about them before, but the Brahmin bunch is truly amazing. So well made, while being classic but on-trend at the same time. I seriously can't get enough! Which is why I am delighted to alert you all that they are having their famous tent sale this weekend! Shoppers can expect to see thousands of bags regularly priced between $200-$500 reduced an average of 65%! The tent sale is held twice a year, and I for one, am determined to get there!

It's the first warm(ish) day in New England in months and everyone has spring fever! What does spring mean to me? Iced coffee, bright colors, stripes and watching the people trickle into the gym that haven't been there since they gave up on their new year's resolution. What's not to love?! Anyway, I mentioned stripes- a staple for many, but especially those who live by the water and can't avoid that urge to dress nautically. I am one of those lucky people. So, as I began perusing my usual fave sites craving a bit of stripey color- I came upon a too-cute for words, impossible to pass up, and probably worth the cost because it's a classic dress. (BTW- these are the thoughts that stream lucidly through my mind as I am justifying a purchase.) As I got ready to hit "buy" and feel the familiar rush of purchasing something I really can't afford, I realized- I already own this dress! In fact, I just bought it a couple weeks ago! Some teeny tiny differences 1) mine is black stripes; not pink and 2) mine was less than half the price. YES- I literally bought this same exact dress at T.J. Maxx mere weeks ago for $150 compared to $400. You may think "The Maxx", as I like to call it, pays me. They do not. You're right thought they should! (hint, hint- JK- not really) The lesson? Digging through the racks pays off- and of course, never pay retail!
