So, I forgot to tell you guys how I met Clinton Kelly a couple weeks ago. I'll save you the long story about me gushing to him and just let you know that by the end of the evening we were besties. Well, at least that's how it went in my mind. Regardless, he was really polite while I gave him my whole "I love you so much" spiel and even told me he loved my outfit! High praise indeed. So why did I meet him? He was a hosting a fashion show at Macy's -using clothes all from- you guessed it- Macy's! It turned out to be a really fab show- I bought a couple of the garments featured (no surprise) but was especially excited to see one of my fave brands on the catwalk- Brahmin! I've done posts about them before, but the Brahmin bunch is truly amazing. So well made, while being classic but on-trend at the same time. I seriously can't get enough! Which is why I am delighted to alert you all that they are having their famous tent sale this weekend! Shoppers can expect to see thousands of bags regularly priced between $200-$500 reduced an average of 65%! The tent sale is held twice a year, and I for one, am determined to get there! One of the beautiful Brahmin clutches featured in the Macy's show- check it out here! See cutie Clinton Kelly in the corner?
As I finally caught up with my boyfriend, TiVo, the past couple of days- I was stopped dead in my tracks by Zoe Hart's dress in the season finale of "Hart of Dixie". I won't tell you what happens, but the episode is worth watching- if for the dress alone! It's sold out- but you couldn't afford it anyway! Ok, fine, I couldn't afford it anyway. I found a couple other dresses that have similar elements- for me, the tulle is the big seller!

OK, I know, I've been sleepin' on the blog- but come on- mama's got to hold down a real job, too! Anyway, if anything was going to bring me out of hibernation you know it was gonna be for this "shopping is my cardio" t-shirt. After Tuesday's "The Mindy Project" episode lots of people were asking me about the shirt/one friend said I am Mindy Kaling. I'm honored on all fronts. So here's the skinny. The shirt is by Wildfox Couture, but the exact match in the pink color is only available on eBay. It can, however, be yours in white. I just clicked to purchase...it was a workout. It's the first warm(ish) day in New England in months and everyone has spring fever! What does spring mean to me? Iced coffee, bright colors, stripes and watching the people trickle into the gym that haven't been there since they gave up on their new year's resolution. What's not to love?! Anyway, I mentioned stripes- a staple for many, but especially those who live by the water and can't avoid that urge to dress nautically. I am one of those lucky people. So, as I began perusing my usual fave sites craving a bit of stripey color- I came upon a too-cute for words, impossible to pass up, and probably worth the cost because it's a classic dress. (BTW- these are the thoughts that stream lucidly through my mind as I am justifying a purchase.) As I got ready to hit "buy" and feel the familiar rush of purchasing something I really can't afford, I realized- I already own this dress! In fact, I just bought it a couple weeks ago! Some teeny tiny differences 1) mine is black stripes; not pink and 2) mine was less than half the price. YES- I literally bought this same exact dress at T.J. Maxx mere weeks ago for $150 compared to $400. You may think "The Maxx", as I like to call it, pays me. They do not. You're right thought they should! (hint, hint- JK- not really) The lesson? Digging through the racks pays off- and of course, never pay retail!

The sun is shining and the sales are blooming! Use that tax return to treat yourself to something nice!
Loft is offering 50% off of EVERYTHING online today! Major score! Pick up a pair of these cute lace shorts for spring (at this price- grab all 3 colors!)
Spring brings showers, flowers- and the perfect opportunity to work your layers! We are still weeks away from full-on warmth, but lately, I've been feeling like it may be time to store my puffy winter coat away for the season. Which can only mean one thing: it's trench time! I'm such a huge fan of the trench coat style! It is universally flattering and totally timeless. You can never ever go wrong with a classic trench in a khaki color, but I also love the idea of incorporating some of spring's more fun styles like prints and bright colors. Whichever way you go- you'll be looking chic- rain or shine!
It may be Friday, but I'm ready for Saturday! But, this Saturday you can enjoy any day of the week! That's right, Kate Spade's "Saturday" line is now available for purchase! Mixing the classic girly, preppy, humorous style of the normal Spade style, this line is on the more affordable end- focusing on casual weekend wear. Dresses, pants, skirts, jewelry and yes, bags most under $200! Besides the amazing Kate Spade dress I scored last week at TJ Maxx... you're not gonna find the designer much cheaper than this! And shopping is such a great way to spend a Saturday ;)
Spring is here, spring is here...lalala! I am SO thrilled for the new season! It may still be freezing outside, but just to see the sunshine feels promising. For the past two weeks I've been sniffing suntan lotion to try and lift my spirits- glad I can let that strange addiction go now. This, of course, means it is now totally appropriate to buy bright and colorful new clothes! I don't even know where to start! Luckily, my inbox does. I woke up to a plethora of "new arrivals" from friends like J Crew, Loft, and Rockport- just to name a few. I can hardly contain myself, especially with discount code offers! Here are just a few of the things I am craving for spring!

Whoa. Talk about red hot! This one shoulder jumpsuit worn by actress Nina Dobrev at The Hollywood Reporter‘s 25 Most Powerful Stylists Luncheon last week is a stunner. But, can we talk about jumpsuits for a minute? How do you feel about them? For me, I want to hate them, but I actually love them! Or, at least the idea of them. I think they're a really chic alternative to dresses. Can I pull them off? Jury is still out on that one...but I'm always willing to take a bit of a fashion risk. The one Nina wore is by Max Mara and a total showstopper. Not quite ready for red? I don't blame you. Start with a more basic black and have fun with your accessories!

OK, who is watching American Idol? I get sucked in every year. Partly for the singing, and also for the fashion! Last year was so fun hunting down JLo's dresses. This year, I'm finding myself obsessed with Nicki Minaj's makeup. It is flawless! And her comment about waffles? Come on ... that was funny! Anyway, I digress. The real star of last night's show was Massachusetts singer Angie Miller. Her singing was totes amaze, but her dress was totally fab, too! Wearing a leather (or faux) dress is actually way easier than you may think, especially in a shift shape. And now that leather is such a craze, there are tons of affordable options! Check out some I found below.
